About This Video

In this complete 4-hour compilation, I build a full Horror Escape game in Unreal Engine 5 from a fresh project—beginner friendly, but with enough real systems to feel like a proper “Granny”-style game. I start by setting up the Third Person template and converting it into a first-person view by attaching the camera to the head socket, smoothing the movement with camera rotation lag, and adding a simple flashlight (spotlight) on the camera boom. Then I set the whole mood: I turn the directional light into moonlight, control exposure with an unbound post-process volume, and optionally use the Good Sky pack to get a stormy midnight preset that fits the horror theme. After the environment, I design the entire horror house using free assets (like House of Chang), and I show how I actually deal with real dev problems—gaps, scaling, collisions, and custom door frames. I use Modeling Mode (plain cut, triangle edit, boolean) to create a usable door-frame wall, then fix collisions so the player can properly pass through. From there, the game becomes a complete loop: ghost AI setup (Pawn Sensing + chasing logic), interaction systems, door key progression, random key spawning in drawers, pickup/drop items with noise that attracts the ghost, hiding in lockers, a day/respawn system with limited days, and proper UI like game over, ending screen, and a main menu.
