Episode 35 of Tina Tries is all about bold lines, sharp angles, and a whole lot of retro flair. 🕰️ This week, I 3D print and assemble a striking art deco–inspired wall clock, layered with geometric patterns that look way more complicated than they actually are. From dialing in the print to piecing together the frame, face, and clock mechanism, this build is a satisfying mix of design and practicality. It’s one of those projects that makes you stop mid-assembly just to admire it. If you love decorative prints that actually serve a purpose, or you just enjoy watching me try not to mess up clean, precise geometry, this one’s for you! As always, I share what worked, what didn’t, and whether this is a project worth adding to your own print list. 🎨 ⸻ 🔗 Links & Credits Original Model Link: https://www.printables.com/model/773191-art-deco-clock-wall-mounted-or-free-standing/comments ArtformDesigns3D‘s Page: https://www.printables.com/@ArtformDesig_1802530 ⸻ Want to print your own? 🛠️ Materials Used (Amazon Affiliate Links) • Creality Black PLA: https://amzn.to/4mWSHrl • Overture Gold Silk PLA: https://amzn.to/4aZPWCs • Loctite Superglue: https://amzn.to/3L6KbaW Non-Affiliate Links • Bambu MH011 Clock Kit: https://us.store.bambulab.com/products/clock-components-kit-011 ⸻ Recording your own build? 🎥Video Tech I’m Using (Amazon Affiliate Links) • MacBook Pro: https://amzn.to/4fUDiVJ • MacBook Air: https://amzn.to/4fYodlZ • Main camera: iPhone: https://amzn.to/3Kgci7p • iPad Pro: https://amzn.to/484Eioo • DJI Microphone: https://amzn.to/4fQZsYG • Lighting Kit: https://amzn.to/4mZvggp ⸻ 🛍️ Want your own piece of Tina Tries history? About This Video

This week I tackled an art deco wall clock that looks like it should be a complicated, fussy build… but it’s honestly way more approachable than it appears. I 3D printed the layered geometric pieces, dialed in the settings so those crisp angles stay crisp, and then worked through the assembly step-by-step: frame, face, and the clock mechanism. It’s one of those projects where you keep stopping mid-build just to stare at it because the stacked shapes make it look way more “designer” than the effort level suggests. I also talk through the practical stuff that matters if you actually want a functional print: how the layers line up, where glue makes sense (and where it’ll just make a mess), and how to plan your filament choices so the contrast really pops. I used black PLA for that bold art deco outline and a gold silk PLA for the flashy accents, then finished it off with a clock kit so it’s not just decor—it’s a real clock. If you like decorative prints with a purpose (and you enjoy watching me try not to mess up clean geometry), this is a super satisfying one to add to your print list.
