Just wait until you see this! Recently I released my updated review of the Big Agnes Skyline stool where I stated that it simply cost too much money to make sense. What I have today is a stool that virtually the same weight but DOESN'T cost 150! It's $137 less expensive! About This Video

My friends, in this episode I’m tackling a question that a lot of us have right now: why on earth would anyone pay $100+—or in this case $150—for a simple camp stool? I recently updated my review of the Big Agnes Skyline Stool, and while I genuinely like it and find it very comfortable, the current price is, in my opinion, insanity. Three years ago it was $100 and even then it was pushing it. At $150, the value proposition simply doesn’t make sense—especially when you can buy full-size lightweight camp chairs for far less. Thanks to a comment from my buddy Craig, I picked up the Moon Lence ultralight stool (I’m calling it the Moon Stool), and it absolutely surprised me. It’s about 1 lb, packs down small, sets up fast, and the design is clever—the storage case is also the seat. Comfort-wise, it’s different than the Skyline: the Skyline feels like a chair without a back (I rate it a 9), while the Moon Stool is more “stool-like” (I rate it a 7), with some frame pressure under the knees and back of the butt. The takeaway is simple: if comfort is your #1 priority and you’re willing to pay for it, the Skyline is the nicer sit. But if you want ultralight seating that’s still very comfortable and costs $13, the Moon Stool is an incredible option—just keep in mind you’ll likely want anti-sink feet for soft ground.
