This week’s video is a proper little reset in my London Marathon 2026 build, because it’s a down week and I’m travelling over to Spain for the Alicante Half Marathon. I take you through the week day-by-day (Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday) and chat through how I’m approaching the training when life gets in the way a bit—keeping the consistency ticking over, but not forcing big sessions when the goal is to absorb the work and arrive fresh. The big theme is winter heat training. Getting out into warmer conditions is a nice change from the UK grind and it’s a really good reminder that effort matters more than pace when the temperature climbs. I talk through how I’m managing the week around travel, keeping things sensible, and setting myself up for more heat exposure next week as well. If you’re in a marathon block and you’ve got a race like a half coming up, this is exactly how I like to handle it: keep it simple, stay honest with the effort, and stack weeks without doing anything daft.
