This week’s video is all about that proper race-week vibe as I roll into the final days before a London Marathon build-up race, aiming to have a crack at a half marathon PB on Sunday. I take you through the week day by day, showing how I bring the mileage down, keep the legs ticking over, and (most importantly) freshen up without losing that sharpness. It’s one of those weeks where you want to feel like you’re doing “enough”, but not so much that you turn up on the start line cooked. I also talk through a couple of the things I’m keeping an eye on in race week—how I’m feeling, how the sessions are landing, and the general balance between confidence and nerves when you know you’ve got a big effort coming. There’s a bit of chat around weight loss as well, plus the usual real-world stuff that comes with training: fitting runs in, keeping it honest, and making sure the easy days are actually easy. If you’re heading into your own race week, this is a solid look at how I structure mine and why I’m happy to back off the volume but still keep a bit of speed in there.
