In this video I take you through a full week of my London Marathon 2026 training, and it’s the final down week before we properly kick on into the last 8 weeks. I break it down day by day, showing what I’m doing, how I’m feeling, and how I’m trying to keep things sensible while still moving the fitness forward. It’s that slightly awkward phase where you’re backing off a touch, but you can feel the big block coming. The big moment of the week is me jumping into an elite runners marathon workout and trying to hang on for dear life. Honestly, it was absolutely insane—one of those sessions where you very quickly realise what “elite” actually looks like in real time. I talk through what I learned from being around that level of athlete for a few days, what it did to my confidence, and also what it highlighted that I still need to work on. If you’re in a marathon build yourself, this one’s all about balancing recovery, getting inspired by faster runners, and taking the right lessons without doing anything daft.
