About This Video

Week 3 of my London Marathon 2026 build was the biggest training week so far, and it definitely felt like it. I nudged the mileage up again, stacked a few key sessions into the week, and tried to keep the rhythm of “get the work done” even when the weather was doing its best to ruin the party. It’s one of those weeks where you don’t need anything fancy—just consistency, sensible effort, and turning up when it’s grim outside. I also got to test some new shoes during the week, which is always useful this early in a block because it helps me dial in what I’ll use for easy miles versus workouts and longer runs. The big takeaway from this one is that progress comes from stringing together solid, boring weeks—especially when conditions aren’t perfect. If your training’s feeling a bit messy right now, don’t panic: keep it simple, keep it consistent, and you’ll be surprised how quickly the weeks start stacking up.
