For the longest time Nintendo wasn’t trying to go toe-to-toe with the “big dogs” like PlayStation, Xbox, or PC, so the lineup kind of felt like the same idea in different shells. In this video, I break it all down as a practical buying guide, not just a spec sheet, so you can pick the model that fits your play style and your budget. I go through what each Switch is actually for: the original Switch is still the versatile middle ground with a massive catalog and solid battery life (roughly 2–8 hours depending on what you play). The OLED is basically the same experience, but the OLED screen is the real reason to buy it—better color depth and immersion—plus a bit better battery (around 3–9 hours). The Switch Lite is my “simple handheld” pick: smaller, fun, great for kids, and I personally put 40–50 hours into Pokémon Scarlet on it without feeling like I was missing much in handheld. Then I talk Switch 2: bigger screen, bigger Joy-Cons, and the best performance (up to 4K 120Hz when docked). The catch is the OS feels the same and, right now, most people can still get a similar experience on older models unless they want to futureproof for incoming Switch 2 exclusives.
