About This Video

In this episode I’m out in Olympic National Forest with Craig, and we put the Mammoth TL overland trailer through a real off-grid test. We had to take a ferry (and a plane, basically) to get here, and it was the perfect place to see if this thing is actually built for getting remote—not just looking cool at an RV park. I break down the big stuff first: price (starts around $75k), overall size (83 inches wide), and the off-road numbers that matter, like the wild 21 inches of ground clearance and the tapered body that helps with approach/departure. Then we get into why this trailer is different: it’s all aluminum, riveted, and there’s literally 0% wood in it. The company comes from aviation, and it shows—everything is overbuilt, machined in-house, and designed to last long enough to hand down to your grandkids. We cover the independent Timbren suspension, matching Tacoma bolt pattern with KO2s, and the self-deploying “Gold Wing” kitchen with fridge, sink, hot water, and a smart campsite setup. Inside, it’s way more livable than you’d expect: shower, sink, bunk beds, a legit big bed, smart lighting, fans, and solid insulation (R5 panels and R12 floor). Bottom line: it’s a sweet spot between an RV and a teardrop, and it’s built for people who actually go off-grid.
