About This Video

This week on Texas Truck Channel, I grabbed a 2026 Ram 1500 Longhorn 4x4 to answer the question everybody’s been yelling about: the 5.7 eTorque HEMI is back… but is it actually better than the Hurricane twin-turbo inline-six? We walk this truck top to bottom—price, options, the western-themed Longhorn vibe, and all the little Ram details that make it feel like the accountants lost (in a good way). I also show off some genuinely useful stuff like the air suspension you can dump from the key fob, and why I keep saying more trucks need to copy that. Then we put it where it counts: real numbers. With the GT exhaust barking like it should, we ran 0–60 and got a 6.55, which is absolutely slower than the Hurricane (we’ve seen 4.13 in the high output), but I’ll say it again—technologically going backwards can be awesome when it brings the charm back. The ZF 8-speed is still phenomenal, 4WD Auto is a must-have, and the ride quality with air suspension is basically cheating. Bottom line: if you want sensation and sound, I’d take the HEMI 10/10 over the SST—Craig disagrees, but that’s why we test everything.
