About This Video

In this episode I put the first-ever Ram 2500 Warlock 4x4 through our hill test, and the timing couldn’t be better (or worse) because we’ve had a lot of rain and washout—so the obstacle is tougher than normal. I break down what this Warlock HD package actually is: it sits above a Tradesman and below a Rebel, adds a 1-inch lift, Bilstein 4600 shocks, and real underbody protection like transfer case and transmission skid plates. We also talk money—this truck as-tested stickers around $75k with the Cummins option, but we’re seeing legit bargains on these at dealers, which makes it a lot of truck for “half-ton truck money.” Then we get into the stuff that matters off-road. I’m not shy about it: the 285/60R20 Duratracs are hands down my least favorite off-road tire in existence—noisy, not great in wet, and only mediocre off-road. We start the climb in 2WD to see what the limited slip can do (it works, but we just dig), step up to 4HI where traction control starts robbing power, and finally go to 4LO where stability control shuts off and the truck claws its way up. For a heavy-duty that isn’t a Power Wagon and has no lockers or sway-bar disconnect, making it up this hill is honestly impressive—and that 1-inch lift absolutely helped.
