About This Video

What happens when you turn Windows 11 into Chrome OS? Yeah—Chrome OS on Windows. A week ago I thought this was basically impossible, but in this video I walk you through how I got Windows 11 to look, feel, and act like a completely different operating system—completely free. No dual booting, no VMs… just pure Windows 11 with that clean, smooth Chrome OS-style vibe. I start with the core of the setup: Rainmeter + the MD3 Windows skin (Material You-style widgets) from GitHub. I show you exactly how to install Rainmeter, unload the default widgets, download MD3, and—most importantly—extract everything and install all the included fonts (this step is where people mess up). Then I build out the desktop with the clock, date, weather, music, battery, and monitor widgets, and I add the free MD3 top taskbar. I also cover the little fixes that make it feel “right,” like auto-hiding the Windows taskbar and adjusting display scale to 125% to fix alignment. To finish it off, I add the Chrome OS cursor pack and apply official-looking Chrome OS wallpapers. The end result is a surprisingly convincing Chrome OS-style desktop on Windows 11, and I link everything you need so you can copy the setup exactly.
