Windows Search is terrible. Slow, can't find files you know exist, and clutters results with Bing searches nobody asked for. But Microsoft actually made a better search tool and buried it in PowerToys. It's called Command Palette. 👉 All Wallpaper Packs (Bundle): https://techenthusiast-shop.fourthwall.com/products/all-wallpaper-packs ☕ Buy me a coffee: https://ko-fi.com/techenthusiast 👉 My Setup: 🖱️- Mouse: https://bit.ly/TE-mouse ⌨️ - Keyboard: https://bit.ly/3qTfOLu 💻 - Laptop: https://bit.ly/4cWXAM5 🎤 - Mic: https://bit.ly/44EENAc 🎛️ - Audio Interface: https://bit.ly/3YYoay2 🦾 - Boom Arm: https://bit.ly/3EjrYk0 🔧 Tools Used in This Video: PowerToys: https://learn.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/powertoys/ 👍 Like & Subscribe for more Windows customization, tools, and clean setups. About This Video

Windows Search is garbage, and I’m not even trying to be dramatic. It’s slow, it misses files you know are on your PC, and it loves stuffing results with Bing searches nobody asked for. In this video I show you the free replacement Microsoft already made—but basically hid inside PowerToys. It’s called Command Palette, and it finds apps, files, and even calculations instantly. I compare it side-by-side with Windows Search, and the difference is night and day. I walk you through installing PowerToys (I prefer the GitHub installer, especially the machine-wide .exe), then I show the most important step: enabling Administrator Mode and setting PowerToys to always run as admin. After that, we jump into Command Palette, remap the shortcut (I use Shift + Space), and I show what it can do—search files, launch apps, run commands, calculator, clipboard history, Windows settings, and more. I also go into the newer personalization options so you can match it to your setup using accent color or even a wallpaper image, plus behavior tweaks like app details, single-click activation, and animations. Finally, I show how extensions work by adding a dark mode toggle extension from the Microsoft Store, which is super handy for quick switching.
