I finally escaped Windows 11 and tried Pop!_OS Linux for the first time. This is my honest experience from Windows to Linux as someone who's tried other distros before but never Pop!_OS. 👉 All Wallpaper Packs (Bundle): https://techenthusiast-shop.fourthwall.com/products/all-wallpaper-packs ☕ Buy me a coffee: https://ko-fi.com/techenthusiast 👉 My Setup: 🖱️- Mouse: https://bit.ly/TE-mouse ⌨️ - Keyboard: https://bit.ly/3qTfOLu 💻 - Laptop: https://bit.ly/4cWXAM5 🎤 - Mic: https://bit.ly/44EENAc 🎛️ - Audio Interface: https://bit.ly/3YYoay2 🦾 - Boom Arm: https://bit.ly/3EjrYk0 🔧 Tools Used in This Video: PopOS: https://system76.com/pop/ 👍 Like & Subscribe for more Windows customization, tools, and clean setups. About This Video

In this video I finally escaped Windows 11 and tried Pop!_OS 24.04 LTS for the first time. I’ve tested a few Linux distros before, but I kept hearing Pop!_OS is “the one that just works,” so I installed it from the Live ISO, did a clean install, and started customizing everything from scratch. First thing I fixed was the weird default resolution (it booted at 1024x768), then I jumped straight into COSMIC settings to tweak the dock, panel, opacity, gaps, sizing, and applets so it feels more like home coming from Windows. After that, I went into appearance and theming: dark mode, corner styles, fonts, and icon packs (which is honestly way easier here than on Windows). I also tested window snapping, switched the power mode to high performance, and started installing the apps I actually use. That’s where the “Linux experience” hit: some things worked (VLC installed, theming was great), but some didn’t—Discord failed to install, Steam didn’t install for me, and Chromium installed but wouldn’t open. I even had to install GNOME Tweaks just to change the cursor. My takeaway: Pop!_OS has really clean customization options, but app reliability can still be a dealbreaker depending on what you need day-to-day.
