About This Video

In this video I give a simple, no-confusion explanation of what the Project Library is in DaVinci Resolve. Think of it as a folder location that contains everything related to your Resolve projects, and Resolve connects to it through the Project Manager. I show where to find the Project Library list (top-left icon in Project Manager), what Resolve creates by default, and how you can add your own libraries using the Add Project Library option. I also break down the two options you’ll see: Create (to make a new library) and Connect (to link an existing library). After that, I go into the Info panel and the backup/restore workflow. Backup works fine, but yeah—there’s no progress bar, so you just wait until the success window pops up. Finally, I open the actual Project Library folder and explain what’s inside: the Settings folder (delivery preset data), the User folder (project data and project settings), and the SoundLib.db database for sounds you add to the sound library. I even show how each project is basically a folder with a project.db file, and how you can recreate a project entry by placing that project.db into a correctly named folder.
