About This Video

In this video I’m checking out MiniTool Power Data Recovery, and I’m calling it “powerful” for one simple reason: it actually recovered data from my hard disk that I formatted more than once while installing Windows. I even formatted it again and used it as a backup disk, and still this software was able to pull back files. So yeah, it works—but there are a few things you should know before you think it’s a one-click miracle. I go through the basics (it’s free up to 1GB, then you need to pay), and I show the UI and scan options like All, partitions, folders, recycle bin, and the entire disk. I also talk about scan time realistically: my 1TB drive took more than 2 hours, and a ~300GB drive took more than 1 hour. After scanning, you’ll mainly see Deleted and Lost Files—what matters is: only the Lost Files section is recoverable, and the app marks recoverability with icons. My verdict: MiniTool is a good option if you’re trying to recover precious data, but it’s not simple or fast. The process is hectic because files come back with generic names like “recovered file,” preview is limited (mostly PNG/JPG), and sometimes recovered ZIP/video/photo files may not even open—especially if the disk has been written to a lot after formatting.
