About This Video

In this video I’m showing you a simple, clean way to reuse any Fusion setup directly from the Edit page in DaVinci Resolve—basically saving your Fusion effect as a custom effect. The core idea is: build your nodes once, turn it into a Macro, save it as a Group, and then place it in the correct Templates folder so it shows up inside the Edit page Effects panel like a normal effect. I also explain the part that most people mess up: node selection order. If the order is mismatched, you won’t get the desired output when you apply the effect later. So I show a quick method to avoid selecting nodes one-by-one—just push MediaIn/MediaOut aside and box-select everything starting from the MediaIn side (or MediaOut side). After that, I create the Macro, choose which controls to export so I can tweak settings from the Edit page, and then save it properly under Templates > Edit > Effects (and even inside a category folder if you want to stay organized). Restart Resolve once for the first time, and your custom Fusion effect is ready to drag-and-drop from Edit.
