About This Video

In this video, I show you how to use Microsoft Planner with Outlook by importing your Planner assignments straight into your Outlook calendar. The whole idea is simple: if you’re using Planner for project management, you can also see those tasks in Outlook so you’re not bouncing between apps just to figure out what’s due and when. I start by opening Microsoft Planner and going into a plan (in my case, a project management plan). I pick a specific task, assign it to myself, and make sure it has a due date set (like this coming Friday). Then I click the arrow option where you’ll see “Add plan to Outlook calendar.” From there, you choose to publish the plan (this is the option you need), and then select “Add to Outlook calendar.” Outlook opens up, and once you click import, you’ll see a new Planner calendar show up under “Other calendars” (or you can add it under “My calendars” depending on the option you pick). After that, you can toggle it on and use it directly inside Outlook.
