About This Video

In this video, I show you the practical way to get content from Microsoft Project into Word—because, honestly, there’s no direct “Export to Word” button in Project. What I do instead is pull the exact view or report I need (this is especially useful for reporting), then copy it over to Word in a way that doesn’t mess up the formatting. I walk through going to the Reports section in Microsoft Project (for example: Cost Overview, Burndown, Upcoming Tasks, Work Overview—whatever fits what you’re trying to present). From there, I use Ctrl + A to select everything in the report and Ctrl + C to copy it. If you paste normally into Word, parts can overlap and the layout can look a bit rough because Word treats elements as separate components. To fix that, I use Paste Special in Word and paste the content as a picture (I pick PNG, but JPEG/SVG can work too). That way, everything comes in as one clean image with a one-to-one match of what you see in Project, which makes it way better for documentation and report packs.
