About This Video

What’s up, TM Nation? In this video I put two ultra-portable “grab-and-go” speakers through real testing for a few weeks: the brand new Tribit PocketGo vs the tried-and-true JBL Go 4. On paper they’re both built for the same mission—true pocket size, tough enough for outdoor use, and backed by companion apps for battery info, EQ/sound tweaks, and updates. They also both come with IP67 waterproofing, so yes—you can submerge them up to about 3 feet for 30 minutes and keep it moving. But the reason this comparison gets wild is the value. The PocketGo was sitting around the $21 early-bird price while the Go 4 is usually closer to $50, and the Tribit is bringing more features: Bluetooth 6.0 (I noticed better range and stability), a TF/microSD card reader, and a built-in mic for calls. Then there’s battery—JBL is rated up to 7 hours, while the PocketGo is up to 20 hours at 50% volume, and in my real use I went days without charging it. Sound-wise, the JBL has that classic JBL Pro tuning with punchy bass for the size, but the PocketGo impressed me with a more balanced, studio-grade approach and cleaner sound when you crank it up. Bottom line: JBL is the safe pick if you’re in that ecosystem, but the PocketGo is the value champ.
