About This Video

What’s up, TM Nation! In this video I’m finally getting into the IEM game the right way—by testing three pairs at three very different price points for a few weeks and breaking down what you actually get for your money. I compare the Etymotic ER3XR ($180), Noble Audio Knight ($289), and Westone Mach 50 ($799) to answer the big question: can budget IEMs really hang with premium sound quality, or are you paying for real performance? I go deep on real-world stuff that matters: comfort, fit, isolation, build quality, and the kind of tuning you can live with for long sessions. The ER3XR is the “budget champ” with insane 35–40 dB isolation and crazy detail, but you’ve gotta be okay with that deep insertion fit. The Knight is my sweet-spot pick for most first-time buyers—fun, engaging, tribrid sound with punchy bass, lush mids, and just enough sparkle without getting harsh. The Mach 50 is absolutely excellent for comfort and balanced, non-fatiguing listening, but I keep it real: for most first-time buyers, that price jump is hard to justify unless you’re doing critical monitoring or you’re deep in the hobby. I also share how source quality, EQ, and my Q-style Sigma DACG impacted what I heard across all three.
