The Etymotic ER3XR is my budget champ here because the noise isolation is absolutely ridiculous—about 35 to 40 dB—so it’s basically like ANC without batteries. Once you get used to the deep insertion fit, the detail retrieval is stunning for the price, and the metal build feels like it’ll last for years. If isolation and detail matter more than comfort, this is the move.
