About This Video

The Division 1 is sitting at $2.99 on Steam (lowest price ever), and if you own a Steam Deck, I genuinely think this might be one of the best $3 gaming experiences you can buy right now. In this video I jump back into snowy New York and break down what matters on Deck: real performance, the best settings for smooth frame pacing, how it feels on a handheld, and what to expect from controls and battery life. I’ve got hundreds of hours in Division 1 and 2 (this channel actually started as a Division channel), so revisiting it on a handheld is honestly pretty awesome. Performance-wise, it runs surprisingly well for an open-world shooter. Auto settings land you around a mostly-60 experience, but you can see dips in intense fights, even down toward the 40s. For the smoothest experience, I recommend a 45 FPS lock from the Steam Deck menu, then using a tweaked Medium preset: low shadows, 85% resolution scale, low particles, no wind-affected snow, and low reflections while keeping the game looking fantastic on the Deck screen—especially on the OLED where the contrast really makes the atmosphere pop. I also cover Ubisoft Connect (required), always-online limitations, and why mapping back grips with Steam Input can make the game feel even better.
