In this video I test the new Decky DLSS Enabler plugin across 10 different games on the Steam Deck and compare it directly with Lossless Scaling and manual setups. The idea behind this plugin is simple - Make the installation of DLSS Enabler easier and simpler. But after spending time testing it across multiple titles, the results are mixed and for all the wrong reasons. About This Video

In this video I tested 10 different games with the new Decky DLSS Enabler plugin and compared it directly against Lossless Scaling (plus a couple of manual setups I’ve used before). On paper, the plugin sounds insane: DLSS 4 multi-frame generation on Steam Deck and “2x, 3x, even 4x FPS.” But after a lot of hands-on testing, I landed in a very different place—because higher FPS numbers didn’t translate into a better experience, and the way the plugin works can cause more harm than good if you don’t know what’s happening under the hood. Across games like Mafia: The Old Country, Expedition 33, Hogwarts Legacy, Remnant 2, Cyberpunk 2077, NFS Unbound, Jedi Survivor, Crimson Desert, Assassin’s Creed Shadows, and No Man’s Sky, the results were all over the place. In some titles it “works” but adds stutter, ghosting, artifacting, and big input lag; in others it simply doesn’t work, won’t launch, or even breaks files (Expedition 33 deleted a whole folder when I unpatched). Meanwhile Lossless Scaling was consistently usable because it runs on top of the game instead of modifying it. My takeaway: DLSS Enabler and OptiScaler are powerful tools, but this isn’t a universal one-click solution. Right now you’re basically beta testing, and I especially don’t recommend this kind of injection/spoofing setup for online games because anti-cheat is exactly designed to flag that.
