About This Video

If you’ve been waiting for the right moment to grab Star Wars Jedi Survivor, this is probably it—because it’s down to $6.99 for a few days. But for Steam Deck owners the real question isn’t the price, it’s whether the game actually runs well. In this video I tested raw Steam Deck performance, checked battery life, and went through the settings that make the most sense if you want something playable without turning the experience into a stuttery mess. On a stock setup (lowest settings + FSR2 Balanced), Jedi Survivor generally sits in the 30–40 FPS range, but it’s rough around the edges with stutters and some brutal in-engine cinematics—at one point I saw it drop to 8 FPS. Combat is where those dips really show up, especially with multiple enemies or Force abilities, so a 30 FPS cap is honestly the safest baseline. Then I tried Lossless Scaling, and by itself it wasn’t great because the base FPS often falls under 30, which adds latency and makes parries feel worse. The big takeaway is the community mod “May the Performance Be with You” (Steam Deck tier). With that installed, I was seeing a much more stable ~40–45 FPS in many areas, which makes Lossless Scaling actually useful—upscaling to around 80–90 FPS with 2x frame gen. Battery life also improved to about 3 hours 15 minutes. It’s a great deal if you’re willing to tinker, but keep in mind the 130 GB install, the EA launcher, and the fact that offline play was basically a no-go in my testing.
