Today we're testing Resident Evil Requiem on the AYN Odin 3 powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite. This is a technical showcase of running a Windows PC game on an Android handheld using Game Hub, Proton, Turnip drivers and translation layers. The game is running on the lowest settings with FSR 3, both with and without Frame Generation, to see what kind of performance is possible on this hardware. About This Video

In this video I’m testing Resident Evil Requiem on the AYN Odin 3 (Snapdragon 8 Elite) as a pure technical showcase: a Windows PC game running on an Android handheld through GameHub 535, Proton, Turnip drivers, and translation layers. I start on the lowest in-game settings with FSR 3 set to Performance, and I keep Frame Generation off at first so we can see the real baseline. Spoiler: it’s usually sitting closer to 15 FPS (sometimes up to ~30), and I also hit annoying issues like the game not scaling properly to fullscreen—parts of the bottom of the screen get cut off no matter what mode I try. The bigger problem isn’t even raw FPS—it’s missing assets and textures. I tried a ton of Turnip driver versions (10–15+), and the theme stayed the same: stuff just doesn’t load, especially outdoors. Indoors, performance improves, and with Frame Generation on (from a ~35–40 FPS base) it can feel surprisingly playable, but you’ll see hitching, occasional flashing/black frames, and the missing walls/textures basically turn the game into a “wall hack” experience. I also clear up the temperature confusion after the recent AYN OTP update: GameHub is now showing actual SoC sensor temps, so 94–102°C looks scary but is still within spec (Snapdragon is rated up to 105°C), while the chassis is more like 50–65°C. Final verdict: I don’t think you should play this on Odin 3 right now—this is about what’s technically possible, not a replacement for a Steam Deck.
