About This Video

Guys, we made it — my first time in Shanghai and I genuinely didn’t know what to feel after 12 hours of traveling alone to a country I’ve never been to before. I’m sharing my real solo travel experience from the jump: from almost getting scammed at the airport (yes, even with someone showing an “airport staff” ID) to finally settling in and soaking in the city I literally wrote down in my faith goals earlier this year. It felt like such an answered prayer to be here — like God really said, “Okay, it’s yours.” In this vlog, I take you with me through my cozy-but-chaotic Shanghai days: cafe stops (Metal Hands, Luckin Coffee), food cravings (Hai Di Lao, Yang’s Dumplings, Miss Tsutsu), and little moments where I just needed to slow down. I had an “introvert day” — bows for breakfast, quiet park time in freezing weather, and a mission to find cherry blossoms. I also did a bit of shopping and exploring (Museum of Art Pudong, Harmay, Anfu Road), then ended the day with takeout and a massive bowl of hot and sour soup because it was raining and I was exhausted. The main reason I’m here is the GenVisa Creator Summit, and I’m not gonna lie — I was scared. I was supposed to travel with Bella, but she got sick, so I had to face the panels, talks, and meeting new creators alone. I talk about being introverted and socially anxious, and how I prayed for community — and looking back, God really did send the right people at the right time.
