About This Video

What’s Kraken! In this episode of The Unmeasurables, Tyler and I kick it live and get into a topic I’ve seen pop up way too often: “Is it the reviewer’s fault if you bought gear you ended up hating?” This whole thing got sparked by comments I’ve seen (and gotten) where someone buys a headphone off a review, returns it a week later, and then goes scorched earth on the idea of listening to reviewers at all. My take is pretty simple: you’re the one holding the credit card. Titles/thumbnails can have a little flare (yeah, I’m guilty sometimes), but if you watch the full review and still hit “buy,” you’ve gotta own that decision. We also dig into the messy reality of “objective vs subjective” in audio. I don’t care how measurement-brained you are—nobody is purely objective because mood, life experience, biases, and even a bad day can color how you hear and present a product. We talk about why you should watch multiple perspectives (especially reviewers you don’t align with), how one tiny hang-up can derail your whole experience (micro-USB on a Mojo 2 type stuff), and why some products can be “good” but still not exciting enough to make you want to use them—or even want to review them.
