The Legion has been one of my favorites for 2025. I first listened to it at CanJam New York and couldn't wait to get more time with it. It also made for a great comparison to the Alien Brain from Campfire Audio. About This Video

Can you imagine trying to shove an IEM into your ear back in the early Roman days? Yeah… torture device vibes. But today I’m talking about something way more fun: the Flipears Legion. This is a tribrid IEM that comes in at $849, and after first hearing it at CanJam New York, I couldn’t wait to get real time with it. I walk through one of my favorite unboxing experiences in a while—big collector’s edition energy—with a beautiful leather case, tip options, a gorgeous braided 4.4mm balanced cable, and even a wax-sealed envelope that I was absolutely tempted to open. Then we get into the real stuff: build, fit, sources, and sound. The Legion is a chunkier shell, so if you’ve got smaller ears, be on alert—mine didn’t love it as much as something like the Campfire Alien Brain. But sonically? Make no mistake, this hits hard. The bass extension and rumble are addictive, and it’s tuned so it doesn’t bulldoze the mids. The mids are laid-back with a quick climb into the upper mids for presence and clarity, and the treble is warm, non-piercing, with enough air and soft sparkle to keep things separated. I also compare it directly to the Campfire Alien Brain—more rumble and sub-bass emphasis on Legion, but a punchier upper bass and more forward mids on Alien Brain—then wrap it all up with who I think the Legion is really for.
