What’s Kraken! This one was a live stream celebration because I officially hit 5,000 subscribers (shoutout to “Mr. C” for being #5000). I talk through my whole YouTube + hi-fi journey—why I started the channel about three years ago, how I originally wanted to blend tech/PC gaming with audio, and why I eventually had to pick a lane. I also get real about the slow-burn growth, learning how to actually make videos (lighting, camera, editing, B-roll), and the biggest lesson: don’t be stagnant, because both YouTube and audio keep changing. I also get a little more personal than usual. I share that I’ve worked retail for 28 years and I’m still doing YouTube around a 50+ hour work week—so yeah, that’s why uploads can take time. I bring my kids on stream (they’re into the “squishy pads” and loud sound, and yes, Mario Kart happens), and then Bri joins to talk about how she got pulled into hi-fi, why the “High Five for Bri” series paused, and what she’s liked at shows like CanJam/Expona. We also nerd out a bit on ZMF as a company—Zach taking a chance on me early was huge—and I tease upcoming projects like the Ori 3.0 coming soon.
