In this short one, I’m basically an internet stranger complaining about a row of LEDs for four minutes — but it’s for a good reason. I tested the Quntis screen light bar and I’m sharing my mostly negative experience, especially compared to the more premium options I’ve used for years (like BenQ). Yes, the Quntis does the basics: it produces light, it gets decently bright, and you can adjust color temperature. I also like the overall look, and having the controls on top is convenient because it can eliminate the need for a hockey puck remote sitting on your desk. But my biggest gripe is a design flaw with how the bar rotates in its mount. On my unit, if you rotate it too much, it locks onto a ridge and won’t release unless you apply more force than you’re comfortable applying — and that leads to scuffs, scratches, and just a bad experience. The plastic feels cheap and soft, and when you adjust it, the plastic can literally shave itself and drop little black flakes on your desk. Compared to my BenQ ScreenBar that has glided smoothly for years, the Quntis feels flimsy, creaky, and not worth recommending.
