About This Video

CES has been busy, and honestly it feels like VR is getting very exciting again. In this video I break down the biggest announcements from the last couple of weeks—starting with HTC’s Vive XR Elite. It’s clearly aiming straight at the Meta Quest Pro with a similar “next-gen” compact design focused on comfort and wearability. On paper it looks strong: 2K per eye, mixed reality, and it even includes a depth sensor (something the Quest Pro famously lost before launch). The pricing is a little cheeky though—HTC’s headline number doesn’t include tax—so the real-world gap versus Quest Pro isn’t as dramatic as it sounds. Also, there’s no built-in face or eye tracking, which matters if you’re comparing feature-for-feature. I also cover Sony’s PSVR 2 updates, and the big one for me is Gran Turismo 7 getting a free VR update—genuinely a headset-seller, especially if you’re into sim racing like I am. Beat Saber coming to PSVR 2 is interesting too, mainly because it’s owned by Meta and I didn’t expect to see that ecosystem open up. Then I run through TCL’s surprise lineup (including true AR glasses and a teased VR headset with two 4K screens), Razer jumping into Quest 2 accessories, and Shiftall finally committing to an early-year release window for MeganeX. Lots of promising hardware—now we just need hands-on time and real release dates.
