About This Video

I love my Quest 3 and I use it all the time, but lately it’s been exposing its limits for what I’m trying to do—especially sim racing and flat panel gaming in-headset. In Assetto Corsa Evo, the moment the sun hits the tarmac, highlights get completely blown out and I can’t make out detail. That’s what pushed me to start craving an OLED or QD‑OLED headset with proper HDR-style visuals, and it’s why I made this roundup of the most compelling headsets that are confirmed, close to shipping, or heavily rumored for 2025. In the video I run through what’s on my radar (and what definitely isn’t). Apple Reality Pro is still a no for me, and the HTC Vive Focus Vision doesn’t feel like the big leap I’d want for the money. MeganeX Superlight looks insanely cool—micro‑OLED, tiny, flip‑up design, and ultra light—but the price is brutal. Then there’s Pimax: the Crystal Light and Crystal Super are powerful on paper, but I’m wary of the ecosystem, bulky form factors, and “painful” software experiences people report. The Dream Air, though, is genuinely exciting: sub‑200g, high res, modern controllers, eye tracking, and even a subscription-style payment option. And the big wildcard for me is Valve Deckard—if Valve delivers their usual slick “it just works” experience (plus potential in-house games), it could be the headset that finally makes upgrading feel obvious. For now, my takeaway is simple: there’s so much coming that the smartest move is probably to wait a little longer and see what actually lands, when it lands, and in what state.
