My PSVR2 has been a genuinely fantastic addition to my setup, so I started asking the obvious question: what can I add that actually improves the experience? In this video I walk through my favorite PSVR2 accessory upgrade—prescription lenses—and why it can give you better graphics, less glare, and a more comfortable session if you normally wear glasses or contacts. I also talk about the specific issues PSVR2’s fresnel lenses can bring, like the mura and haloing, and why I think the anti-glare coating on these inserts makes a surprisingly big difference. I went with VR Rock because I already use them on my Quest 2 and I trust the quality. The PSVR2 design is dead simple: it’s a single piece that pushes directly over your existing lens, so it’s easy to fit and easy to remove if you’re sharing the headset. The main trade-off I call out is field of view—these inserts are thicker, so you may need to move the screen further from your eyes, which can feel less immersive. For me it’s a game-by-game choice: high-fidelity stuff like Gran Turismo 7 gets the lenses, but for maximum immersion (and maximum terror) in something like Switchback VR, I’ll sometimes go without.
