Is Earth 2 a Metaverse Scam?

Earth 2 has been popping up as an advert in my social feeds a lot lately. They claim to be building the metaverse that we will come to populate in VR. With people rushing to invest serious money into their promises, I wonder if it's really worth it. Is Earth 2 a scam? It all feels a bit sketchy as we haven't seen any real gameplay. I am a massive VR enthusiast and really want the platform to grow, but I still want to make sure that people aren't fooled into wasting their money, chasing after dreams that won't ever materialise. Here's a bit of a deep dive into Earth 2 from IO and how I think it will stack up against the growing competition for the metaverse. Along with some thought on the gameplay from Drone. Let me know your thoughts, will we soon be thinking of this as the Metaverse? Will Meta, with their enormous Quest 2 userbase, themselves beat out any competition from smaller companies like this?
