Ice Fly Fishing Adventure in Colorado | 4th Gen Tacoma, 3rd Gen Tundra & Tune M1L

Ice, fly rods, and sketchy traction… what could go wrong? ❄️🎣 We took our 4th-gen Toyota Tacoma with the Tune Outdoor M1L camper and our 3rd-gen Tundra up into the Colorado mountains for a quick winter fly fishing trip. The icy access road was way slicker than expected, the rear locker on the Tacoma wasn’t working, and we definitely should’ve aired down sooner—but we made it out to a partially frozen alpine lake to chase trout and escape the city for a morning. On this trip, we’re running a Riversmith fly rod holder on the M1L extrusions, using a Garmin Tread for navigation, and cooking breakfast on our Camp Chef stove right on the ice. We walk through ice thickness, safety, airing down to ~10 PSI for traction, how the M1L fits the 4th gen Tacoma, and why all the built-in extrusions make it so easy to mount gear like rod holders and more.
