I’ve owned my 2007 Toyota Tundra for a little over a year now, and one of the very first mods I did was the head unit. I wanted CarPlay for music, navigation, and just making the truck feel newer without buying a newer vehicle. In this video I’m giving you my real 1-year review of the Dasaita 10.2” head unit—what I like, what I’d change, and why it’s still one of my favorite tech upgrades for a 2nd-gen Tundra. Day-to-day, I live in CarPlay. I’m constantly running Google Maps or Apple Maps (even on my commute) just to stay ahead of traffic, and I like having my apps right there—plus I’m running my Garmin PowerSwitch through it to control lights and accessories. Performance-wise, it’s been solid: no lag, no weird delays, and the fit/finish is honestly one of the best parts. The piano black matches the factory center area so well that it looks like it belongs there. My main gripe is the touch volume buttons. Having to hold a touch button to crank volume up or down is just not ideal. That’s why I’m planning to swap to the newer 11.6” Dasaita G13 next—bigger screen, and physical buttons/dials where it actually matters.
