About This Video

In this video I’m down in Dallas, TX working with a homeowner who’s in the middle of a full backyard overhaul—pool relocation, a future waterfall/seating area, and a full outdoor kitchen. My job was to help them design an outdoor audio layout that gives even coverage across the main patio zones and still reaches into the pool area, without blasting one spot and leaving dead zones in another. We landed on Klipsch outdoor speakers powered by a Sonos Amp so they can have music throughout the yard and keep control simple. I walk you through how we planned speaker placement under the eaves, then show the install process: running speaker wire back to an interior linen/coat closet, mounting the Sonos Amp on the wall, and routing the cables up into the attic. Partway through we made a real-world change of plans—switching one side of the house to the smaller Klipsch AW-525 to better fit the space—while keeping AW-650s in the main areas for bigger coverage. We finish by buttoning up the closet wiring and doing a quick demo so you can hear the system in action.
