About This Video

Hey guys, Chad with Pure Media Systems. In this video I’m back in a familiar media room in Frisco, TX—same room we’ve worked in before, but with a new homeowner and a fresh plan. The previous owner took the speakers, so we rebuilt this theater around what made the most sense for the existing cutout and screen. They kept the custom Severtson Cinema White MicroPerf acoustically transparent screen (IMAX-style material), so I went right back to Klipsch THX-504-L behind the screen for the LCR—because it’s basically the only speaker that fits that opening without getting into a bunch of drywall repair. From there, I laid out and installed four Klipsch THX-502-L in-walls for surrounds and rears, lined up cleanly around the room with a laser. For Atmos, we reused the existing in-ceiling speakers (not ideal locations, but they’re there, and we’ll make them work until the customer wants to upgrade). Video got a major bump with the Epson LS9000B laser projector replacing an older 4050, mounted level on an angled ceiling using a cathedral mount. To tie it all together, we used the Integra DRX-8.4 “Beast” AVR with built-in Klipsch presets, and I finished it off with a Kaleidescape source and our go-to Dolby Atmos demo (Nature’s Fury) to show what this system can really do.
