About This Video

In this install I’m out in Coppell, Texas doing a full job from pre-wire to final setup after a remodel. This was an older home that had a flood/pipe burst, so everything was opened up—perfect time to do it the right way. The plan was a 55-inch Samsung Frame TV above a non-functioning fireplace, Klipsch RP-600M II bookshelf speakers on the built-ins, and Sonos multi-zone audio with in-ceiling speakers in the new master bathroom. The big challenge was routing clean wiring through a brick fireplace façade. We confirmed it was dead space in front of the firebox, removed brick where needed, and ran Smurf tube with sweeping bends (no hard 90s) so pulling cable stays easy later. I pulled Cat6 for the Frame TV, speaker wire (14/2) for the Klipsch bookshelves, and got everything landed into the cabinet for a clean equipment home. A few months later we came back for trim-out: mounted the Frame, installed wall plates, and set the gear in the cabinet (Sonos Amp, Apple TV, One Connect box, network switch, and surge protection). Then we cut in and installed the bathroom ceiling speakers, lining them up cleanly with the lights over the vanities. The takeaway: good conduit, smart cable paths, and planning the cabinet layout upfront makes the finish look effortless.
