About This Video

Today I’m out in Prosper, Texas for a big game room upgrade, and the star of the show is a massive 98” Samsung Neo QLED (QN90 series). You can’t really understand the scale until you see it on the wall—this customer sits about 30 feet back, and an 85” just wasn’t giving them the “big game day” experience they wanted. We also did what I always recommend: put the best TV in the primary viewing area and rotate the other displays through the house (85” to the living room, older 70” to the bedroom). On audio, we replaced a speaker setup that was never installed right with Klipsch Pro-180-RPC in-ceiling speakers. I cut in the holes, got the speakers mounted, and we adjusted on the fly when we found the existing speaker wire was actually behind the couch—so we ran new lines back to the credenza where all the gear lives. To round it out, we added an Episode Evo 10 sub (with a wireless kit) and powered everything with a Triad One amp. Finally, I tied it all together with Control4: a Core 1 controller, an Araknis PoE switch, and a smart remote that makes it simple—Watch > DirecTV (or Roku), and Off when you’re done. Clean install, better sound, and a system the homeowner will actually use.
