Hey guys, Chad with Pure Media Systems. In this video I’m walking you through a 5.1.2 Dolby Atmos media room install and demo we did in Houston, TX using a Sony VPL-VW325ES native 4K projector, a 120" Severtson Cinema White screen, and a full Klipsch speaker package. The room isn’t huge—more narrow and short—but we worked with the customer and builder ahead of time on pre-wire and speaker locations so everything would perform the way it should. Of course, the studs didn’t line up perfectly, so I show how we adjusted the gang box location so the in-walls could be aligned cleanly. For audio, I installed Klipsch RP-8000F towers with an RP-504C center (I’m a big fan of the walnut finish—looks awesome in this darker room), plus Klipsch in-wall surrounds and in-ceiling Atmos speakers with pivoting woofer/tweeter aimed at the seating. We also expanded the existing Control4 system in the home with an EA1 and lighting control, including custom button programming for a light strip and preset dim levels. To top it off, I demo Kaleidescape—full 4K 60Hz menus and, in my opinion, the best possible way to consume movies at home—then we fire up a Dolby Atmos demo (“Nature’s Fury”) so you can hear what this room can really do.
