About This Video

In this video I give you my honest, one-month review of the DJI Flip and whether it’s actually the right drone for you. The first thing that genuinely surprised me is a little “quirk” DJI didn’t really shout about: when you unfold the props it basically powers up in a way that feels super intuitive, and the whole palm take-off / palm catch experience is a big part of what makes this drone feel friendly for solo creators. I also talk about the prop guards (yes, they look a bit “bicycle” at first), and the big thing I learned the hard way: you can’t just grab it through the guards, and when you palm catch it you need to keep your fingers straight. I compare the Flip’s size against the Neo and the Mini series, and I cover a key warning: if you fly without the controller you’re limited on settings (like only 30fps or 60fps), but once you connect the phone to the controller you unlock way more control. From there I get into real-world stuff: noise (the Flip stands out more than the Mini), durability, sensors (front and rear, but not everything), tracking modes you can trigger from the drone itself, and realistic flight time (I’m seeing about 22–23 minutes, not the quoted 31). Finally, I place it in DJI’s lineup: above the Neo, below the Mini Pro—and honestly, if you’re new, I’d go straight to the Flip.
