About This Video

Want to know how to film rollers with your Pocket 3? In this video I break down exactly how I’m getting those “wow” car roller shots using a tiny DJI Osmo Pocket 3 and a proper suction/damper setup. I run through the crew, the kit, and the tech, then I show three different shot types: a fast “pull-up” style shot, side detail shots (lights, wheels, lines), and a front-mounted angle that looks insane when it works. I also stick around to the end and show you the final montage, plus why sound design can take the whole thing up a level. The big takeaway is stability and settings. I’m using the Tilta Hydra Alien Mini system with the damper to kill vibrations (the little micro-shakes that ruin rollers), and I’m pairing that with ND filters and a CPL to control exposure and reflections. For settings, I’m on 25fps with a 1/50 shutter for that lovely motion blur, and D-Log 10-bit so I’ve got room to grade and pull back highlights. I also touch on safety and comms—this is safer than hanging out of a vehicle, but it’s still not “perfect,” so clear directions and ideally three people makes a massive difference.
