Guys, I’ve just got my hands on the DJI Mic Mini and this video is my quick unboxing and first look—proper one-take style. I bought it because I’m genuinely curious about the mini size compared to the DJI Mic 2, and straight away you can see DJI’s going for a lighter, simpler setup. In the box you get a nice soft wash-bag style pouch, dead cats (wind protection), cables, and USB‑C charging. I show you the receiver up close, and it’s seriously light—if you’re running a camera on a gimbal, you’re not going to notice it hanging off the top at all. There’s also a removable bit/adaptor situation for using it with a phone (USB‑C), and if you’re still on Lightning you’ll need a separate adapter. Then we get to the mic itself: it’s very small—literally a different league next to the Mic 2. I do wish they’d rethought the clip design because without it, it could’ve been even thinner. I also talk through what you’re giving up versus the Mic 2: you won’t get all the “wizardry,” but it should still get the job done. I’m especially interested in testing how the limiter performs on the Mini, and on the Mic 2 side I mention 32‑bit float and noise cancellation—features I’ll be digging into properly in my full long-form review.
