About This Video

Have you ever seen those adorable dog beds that look like little teepees? I’ve had my eye on them forever because my two dogs love to burrow and get cozy in small, comfy spaces. The store-bought versions can be super cute, but the higher-quality ones get pricey fast—and honestly, I wanted to customize the fabric and colors to match my home décor. So I did a bunch of research, checked out store-bought features, watched several tutorials, and ended up creating my own pattern that’s been such a hit in my house. In this video, I walk you through my step-by-step DIY teepee dog bed tutorial—from cutting four fabric triangles (26 inches wide by 31 inches tall), trimming four inches off the top for the dowel space, and hemming so nothing frays. I also show you how I make a simple “door” opening, sew the panel seams with a second stitch line to create dowel pockets, and close the bottom so the dowels don’t poke out. Then we assemble the frame with four 36-inch dowels and strong crafting cord (wrapping horizontally and vertically to secure everything). Finish it off with a pillow and toys, and you’ve got the cutest little hangout spot for your pup.
