About This Video

Halloween is right around the corner, and in this video I’m showing you five super easy DIY dog Halloween costumes you can throw together in a pinch—without spending a bunch of money on a store-bought costume your pup will probably only wear once. Before we start crafting, I share my two biggest costume safety reminders: make sure nothing is too tight (especially around the neck) and make sure your dog has complete vision. Cute photos are great, but comfort and safety come first. I walk you through a DIY mummy using inexpensive medical wrap (no tape needed!), a “shaken not stirred” dog martini glass using the cone of shame plus a dowel and DIY olives, and an adorable TY Beanie Baby tag made from cardstock. Then I show you my spider costume idea using pipe cleaners attached to a harness (or collar) to create eight legs—simple, but you do need to be mindful of sharp ends. Finally, I share my three-headed dog costume using a spare collar and Dollar Store stuffed dog heads (yes, I felt bad… but it’s all for the gram).
