About This Video

In this video I take y’all with me to the Tulsa Farm Show at the Expo Center—aka “where farmers go broke,” because it’s basically a giant place to dream about tractors, equipment, and all the stuff you didn’t know you needed until you see it in person. We walk through displays of implements for tractors and skid steers, check out horse demonstrations, and I spend way too much time looking at equipment (and yes, joking around with Jeremy the whole time). There wasn’t a ton of chicken-specific stuff, but you already know I’m still going to find the chicken coop booth. The chicken highlight was a super cute, well-built little coop with nesting boxes, roost bars, and a design that’s draft-free and keeps rain out—honestly, it had me thinking I might need to start building coops like that myself. We also looked at sheds on skids, talked treated vs. non-treated lumber (good ways to save money without doing it wrong), and climbed around on tractors—new ones and old ones. The best part for me is still those old tractors, especially the one like ours, because ours is a working tractor and it’s family history. I also share the “goodie bag” haul and the best info I picked up from USDA, ODAF, OSU Extension, and more—especially biosecurity and preparedness resources that actually matter on a real ranch.
