Chrissy here from Paragon Ridge Ranch, and in this video I’m just out on a cool, overcast Oklahoma day doing one of my favorite “reset my brain” chores—pampering my Highland cattle. I take you with me to brush out Isabella Tinkel and Baby Cow, work through the knots (especially on the backside), and then get them sprayed down for fly control. Flies are little devils out here, and I’m always trying to stay ahead of them—especially around the face, horns, and ears. You’ll see the difference in their coats too: Baby Cow drops a lot of his extra fluff in summer, while Izzy keeps that longer, golden-blonde texture. I talk through how often I try to brush (about weekly), why I’m careful around horns (he’s not trying to hurt me, but he moves them), and what I do when I run out of fly spray mid-job. Whiskey the donkey makes an appearance as well—he’s got that Christ’s cross on his back, plays hide-and-seek, and of course wants brushed even when he barely needs it. It’s calm ranch life, a little cheeky Baby Cow attitude, and the real day-to-day stuff that keeps our animals comfortable.
