About This Video

In this video I’m giving you a quick tour of my “overland office” setup in my Jeep Gladiator—because adventure can’t always wait for retirement. I’m about two months into this year’s road trip and filmed this on a lunch break at Valley of the Gods, so it’s a straight-to-the-point walkthrough of what I actually use to do remote manager work on the road: emails, spreadsheets, Teams meetings, voice calls… office crap. I break down the basic desk-and-chair setup (King Camp table + Front Runner folding chair), how I run two laptops (MacBook for Overland Calling and an HP for my day job) with one mouse, and the little quality-of-life stuff that keeps me sane—like a big mouse pad on a slatted table and a hard mouse case so trail miles don’t destroy my gear. Then I get into the real overland-remote-work essentials: power and internet. I use a small Anker C300 DC-style power station for grab-and-go charging, but my main system is a 280Ah lithium battery with solar, and I keep Starlink powered off the main box. For connectivity, I live by “two is one and one is none.” Starlink is my primary, but I still carry cellular backup (Peplink router, and a WeBoost that I wouldn’t buy again today). I also show why my ARB awning room is still worth the hassle and why a cord bag is non-negotiable if you don’t want daily tangled-cord misery.
